I thought dandelions were one of THE most recommended greens for uros and torts?? Hmmmm....
I think this leads into a key aspect IMHO with feeding vegetarian reptiles. Do what nature does. Various amounts at various times. These are animals from harsh climates that eat God knows what when its available, with probably periods of no food at all. I am sure there is a very cyclic availablity of food at any given time. From tons of sprouts and blooms, to weeds and adult vegetation, to nothing but dried plants and grasses, to nothing but scorched dry earth.
You may want to just limit feeding it the fresh blooms that fall from the bush. I gave my torts all of those as they were available when I had a hibiscus bush. I wouldnt feed only hibiscus, or for that matter any one source, for any SUBSTANTIAL period of time. But I dont think letting them binge on hibiscus when availabe will hurt them either. They would probably be scarfing them down in nature when the blooms were availabe. And just like in nature, the bush will eventually stop blooming and they are going to need another availabe food source.
