Gingivitis in Uro's?

Hey guys well a while back I posted a question regarding my Uros receding lip. Well upon vet inspection he diagnosed it as Gingivitis. He prescribed an ointment to be used daily for two weeks. This is the first time I've heard of such a thing in Herp's and was wondering is anyone one else has had experience with this, and if you have any recommendations on prevention.
