Hello! I'm totally new to this forum but I'm happy I found it, I really hope someone knowledgeable about outdoor frog keeping can help me...My mom has a swimming pool that has been sitting untreated over winter, with about 2-3.5 ft of water in it. We were surprised and happy to hear a frog chirping quite loudly every night from the pool...the pool seems to be a perfect little habitat for the frogs. But my mom wants to fill up the pool this summer, which of course implies treating the water with chemicals and chlorine. What I really would like is to build my own small pond and transfer them, but we have raccoons which would eat them right away if they weren't able to swim deep enough. If I can find a nearby pond, will it be ok to catch them and relocate them? Is there a chance the chlorine won't kill them? I assume there will be tadpoles in the pool, I did see at least one female frog(caught him and her quite by accident in the pool net) so what should I do with the tadpoles?? I really don't want to move them but I am afraid the pool being chlorinated will not be frog-friendly.Thank you so much in advance for any advice!
