They need that so as not to develop metabolic bone disease. They also need a dish of water. You will have to find the tiniest crickets for this little guy. Could probably get some wingless Drosophila hydrei (the larger species) fruit flies, too. Keep him at about 85 degrees, and provide him a temperature gradient, so he can pick where he wants to be.
