...At my old house... I moved from Florida to Alabama in November of '08 to take care of my father after he was diagnosed with lung cancer, and I let my house in Florida go into foreclosure. Last week, I took a trip down to Florida, to visit friends, and to pick up two 10 by 10 dog kennels I had to leave behind in the move. Anyways, I went into the backyard of my old house, got the kennels into the bed of my truck, and decided to look around the yard a bit, and in the corner of the yard, I found a baby ornate box turtle. I have a pair of ornates that I housed outside in Florida, and never saw the male even take interest in the female, but they obviously mated, and I'm not sure how many eggs she layed, I saw no signs of a nest and no eggs while digging up the bottom of the dog kennel, just the one baby in the corner of the yard. Needless to say, I took the baby home, and he's doing good, housed with my juvi desert ornate, and has started to eat.
