There are many, many, many kinds of nematodes, some more harmful than others. And some that aren't a problem in small numbers may become harmful if the numbers bloom. Trust what your vet says about whether or not treatment is necessary, and make sure to follow up with the vet after treatment to be sure things are cleared up appropriately.



You can always ask your vet to tell you what specific parasites were found, and in what numbers. He or she shouldn't have a problem with making sure you understand why any treatments are necessary.
