I caught my first 3-toe in 1958 when I was 3. My dad built a 4' x 8' box for her and I handled everything else. I caught insects, worms and anything else I could to feed her. Over the years I found 4 more and enlarged the enclosure. They bred, the eggs hatched and I raised babies. My original turtle finally died in 1981 and I adopted out the others at that point. She was the perfect pet for me because I gave her the best care I could for over 2 decades. I loved digging for worms, catching bugs, etc. What better way for a little boy to learn some responsibility? [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Show Entire Thread ] | ||
