They are both female, but they are both so different in shape and color. I always felt that Leonardo was a Florida redbelly (even though his belly is very yellow) and the other turtle was another type of Redbelly like the Northern. Its not completely clear in the pictures, but they are very different. I will try to post some daytime pics for a better assessment.
