Hi Megalon,

Bog turtles live in South Carolina. You would need a permit from the State to keep them. Also, if you are having to buy one from across State lines, you would need a Federal permit in order to do this.

There are breeders in Florida. Captive produced bog turtles are almost always available at the Daytona show. They run about $500 for a hatchling.

Your first step would be to contact the State to see if they would even allow you to keep them. Good or bad, my experience is that they will not.
