Congrats on your rosy. I am guessing it is a neonate (baby less than 1 year)? If so try feeding him something larger than a pinky. I have found that rosys neonates even a few days old like to eat something a little larger like a pinky that has hair/or small peach fuzzy. This is what finally got my babies to eat last year, they refused pinkies from day old pinks to a few day old pinks. This year I fed 3 of the 5 peach fuzzies and they ate before thier first shed, 5 of 5 ate after their first shed, and they continue to eat really well for me.



Another problem sometimes is that rosys neonates want LIVE meals usually. You MAY get lucky with them taking a frozen thawed, but normally the first meal or first few meals will need to be live. Then you can switch them over to F/T. Hope eating is going good for him now. IF you continue to have any problems you can turn off the heat to his tank for a month or so, let him brumate/hibernate. This will stimulate the feeding response once you bring them back up to heat. Some neonate rosys will not eat or eat often and need to be brumated. They do this NORMALLY in the wild. If they DO NOT eat for about 1 month I would personally brumate them. This will let them cool down and save their body weight. If they continue to NOT eat and are on heat still they will lose too much body weight and end with bad results. i just purchased a joshua tree desert rosy boa at a reptile show 2 weeks ago, i know i might be worrying to soon but he hasnt eaten anything thing yet. i tried feeding him on 3 different occasions with thawed pinkies. i keep him in a exo terra 18x18x18 and the temp is about 87 in the heated corner
