Up until recently, I have been leaving a dish of baby food for him in the bottom of his cage and occasionally I would throw in crickets. I had noticed there were no lick-marks in the food and have tried various flavors of baby food, baby food w/ ReptoCal mixed in, and tried the crested gecko diet. I kept an eye on his calcium sacs in his mouth and they always seemed okay. But here I am learning the hard way that isn't fool-proof.

Since the day before yesterday (when I discovered the problem), I have been force feeding him crickets or baby food. The first day I got him to swallow a large cricket (legs removed, and the body fed in pieces) liberally coated in ReptoCal. The next day, I tried feeding him a mixture of baby food, crested gecko diet, and ReptoCal taken from the advice of someone I know. He refused to swallow hardly any of it, and actually spit up some of it hours later. Today, he ate another cricket like before.

He defecated on the second day and I don't think I've ever been so happy to see gecko poop!

I've been keeping him a bit warmer than usual to help his metabolism, and trying to keep him as hydrated as I can.
