Trust me I would NOT just use the internet to 'treat' a box turtle - The internet is a great place to gather ideas and suggestions - often issues have been delt with - like yours. I also feel some people run to the doctor/Vet for the littlest of things and this is why the Dr's drive very nice cars, lol. Sometimes we just have to let turtles be turtles and let nature take its course. I have had turtles in our back yard now for right at 20 years and our luck has been very good - both with babies and adults - I have lost a few but none due to neglect. The last visit to the vet was $90 for a exam and Exray and nothing was found. I have emailed my Vet with your story and I just got an email back saying "its not a bad idea - best case it will help the turtle and if that is not it - it won't hurt. I just called his office and reminded him that both these guys are just about into hybernation - can the shots still be given?? Up to this point, we have never lost a turtle during hybernation - we've been lucky... We let our turtles be themselfs year around. our back yard is very safe and its their home - they have a complete run. only the babies are protected from birds. Never a problem with other animals in our yard..
