We recommend a heat pad under half of the tank w/ the temp being 90 degrees all of the time. Leos are nocturnal; don't worry about the day/night cycle-the natural one in your room will suffice. Leos are generally ready to breed between 10-12 months, w/ males weighing about 40 grams and females 45. Generally when males are ready to breed, they will stop eating, but this may be difficult to tell when in a community setting. Also place an egg box in the tank-- I use the disposable food storage containers (some made by Zip Loc) approx 4" X 6" and 1" high. Cut a hole in the top and side of container large enough to accomodate the Leo. The purchase peat moss (UNFERTILIZED) Wet and squeeze out excess water and place in the egg box. They will also use this as a moist hide to assist in shedding. Check this every other day or so and re-moisten as needed. The let nature take its course. Eggs in the female can be seen on the upper portion of the abdomen and are opalescent/pearly-- do not confuse w/ fat deposits on the lower half of the abdominal area
