From a basic ecological standpoint, it is obvious that United States wilderness has always taken a hit for Political advancement. Our method of transit, urban sprawl, and manufacturing processes have, and continue to, poison our ecosystem in a manner that does not obey any boundaries.

How better to instill an appreciation and stewardship for wilderness than to become the caretaker and breeder of an exotic wonder of nature such as a python? I am sure that a study of our human population would show reptile keepers standing out as particularly concerned for wildlife and watchful of it's destruction.

It is counterintuitive to restrict interaction with reptiles for the sake of preserving wildlife and it's habitat. Maybe the real objective is to destroy the nature loving spirit of those who oppose the destruction of our ecosystem? Personally, I see our government as no model for how we should defend our wild places, and will leave this backward system if our leadership cannot learn to pull their heads out of their a**
