Trisomic rescue is just as likely. The chromosome carrying the Lucy gene would be passed on in 3 copies, by meiotic error, and then one copy is eliminated by the zygote, giving the offspring 2 copies of the the Lucy parent chromosome. This accounts for about 20% of Angelman Syndrome in people. Meiotic transfer is another possibility. The only was to know for sure would be comparative chromosomal and molecular analysis of the Lucy parent and Lucy offspring. The rest sounds good ----- steve
