I am a rescue and am very experienced with lizards. In mid August I was called to a local animal control to pick up 2 unknown species of lizards. While I was there I saw a very skinny sickly looking baby Egyptian Uromastyx. I asked about him and was told that they were dropping him off at a pet store later that day. I was then told I could take him if I wanted. I can't say I was excited since I had no space available at the time but figured he'd probably die at a pet store. He weighed 72 grams.

He did well with me and grew and gained weight. By early December he topped out at 170 grams. Since then his weight has been up and down in the 150-170 range. He has always been very skittish and I don't see him much since I'm at work 8-6:30 and he is late to rise and early to bed. This weekend I haven't seen him at all and I can tell that he has not come out. This is a change and worries me a little bit.

I never change my day cycle 14/on 10/off and follow food, temp. suggestions and husbandry listed on Deer Fern Farms site.

Is this behavior considered normal? If he is brumating any idea how long it will last? Thanks.
