I have decided I would like to use a male King Snake from someone else to breed to my female King Snake. I am trying to decide (and hoped someone else had a similar situation) what is the proper "payment" for services. He seems to think half the eggs is normal. But, I can buy a male snake with the same qualities for less than the worth of half the eggs. As with any other animal, there is either a set "stud fee" or it is equivalent to one of the offspring/pick of litter; which is never worth more than the purchase price of the animal you would like to breed to. So what do you all think? What is the proper "payment of services" for using a "stud-snake?" Does anyone else have similar experiences and could tell me what they did?
