Just a brown snake, sometimes called DeKays snakes .Dont worry about those, there nonvenomous and usually pretty placid. Most DeKays snakes will not break 14 inches. It looks like your cat already had a go at the one in the pic. Best bet is to release it in the woods away from the area and out of harms way. Hopefully that wound heals up.
