Easy to keep in cypress or coconut moire, damp on bottom, dry upper layers, a piece of bark laying on top to hide under. Temps 72-82 degrees. Large water dish, they soak often, a closed box of damp sphagnum to shed in. Heavily parasitized to monitor and treat accordingly. Heat mat or ceramic heater in light fixture. Min. 20 long aquarium, 6" of substrate. I've had them eat anoles, small snakes (garters, baby natrix, tadpoles, small goldfish {both on land and in water dish} small frogs and toads, a few lizard scented pinkies. They eat two, three times a week, usually in evening. I have never succeeded in keeping them more than 18 months or so, but this was in 70's and 80's, meds are better now. Never succeeded in breeding them.
