Racks work great for leos. I would say they work better, at least with larger colonies. They do not need light only heat. I do prefer back heat over belly heat, you dont have to worry about burns as much. They only reason people dont like heat matts is for the same reason people dont like them for snakes, when they arent regulated they cause burns to easily.
