I think I've had mine for going on 4 years now (I can't remember exactly).
I feed crickets as a staple, with occaisional wax worms and wc moths and spiders. Gut loading the crickets and dusting with a high quality calcium and vitamin supplement are important (don't leave uneaten crickets running around in the tank, loosing their powder and gut contents).
I have a water dish that I fill weekly, although I've never seen drinking.
Heating is important. I've tried lights, heat mats on the side or under the tank. All worked fine. I'm currently using under the tank as that's easiest for me and it doesn't seem to make a difference to the snake as long as there is a heat source. Without a hot spot (90-100 degrees), there can be issues with regurgitation.
I maintain mine on about 2" of sand in a 5 gallon breeder tank.
