Is this a Papuan olive python? If so, I have noticed these on imported Papuan olive pythons and they have, in my limited experience, disappeared on their own in time. Presumably it is some sort of parasite, but it doesn't seem to stay there. It is never a bad idea to go to a vet for excision and proper identification, but if it is an imported Papuan, that probably isn't necessary. I remember those bumps use to freak me out too and I was sure that I must do something, but they went away.
