Woo hoo! 2/3 of the way toward captive bred Schneider's skinks! First step, mating-check! Second step, egg laying-check! Now the most nerve-wracking part! Incubating the two eggs when I've NEVER INCUBATED EGGS BEFORE!!!

My reptile room oscillates between 77 and 86. 77 seems too cool for the eggs so I set up an incubator in order to make sure they don't go below 80. It's a plastic tub with an aquarium heater in it. There are cinder blocks in the water with mesh covering the top. On this is placed the deli cup with the eggs in moist vermiculite. Also there is a thermometer and humidity monitor.

Ack! I'm so nervous! But here... we... goooooooooo......!
