I've decided to try keeping one of the little smooth earth snakes I find in my yard. I know they eat earthworms and I have plenty of them, but am not real sure about their other needs. I have it in a shoebox with potting soil, two hides, and a water bowl. Does it need a moist hide? I'll try to find a smooth flat small rock for it to hide under, but right now I have two small plastic pot bottoms for hides.

I'm open to any suggestions.
