I would say they start to taper off around 5-7 ft. Some obviously get longer than that, but they do slow down some at that point in general. An average clutch size for a well matured female would be around 20-25 eggs. First time females frequently lay clutches of less than 10 eggs. Sometimes you can get close to 30 from a big girl, but that is fairly rare.
