As far as double checking the sex, just look for the spurs on the male. The belly, I have some that have pretty black bellys where the speckling has increased and is pretty dominant, but it's not a solid black covering. Pics would help to see exactly the level of black that's going on. Hope whatever you end up doing with them producing some more good looking Dumerils though. Take care
