I went back to the preserve today and saw the same coachwhip as yesterday (has a pretty unique scar on the right side). The snake was raiding a bird nest when I came upon it. This is the second time I've found a coachwhip doing that (the first time was some years prior).
I couldn't tell you the species of birds involved. Are coachwhips going for hatchling birds or for eggs, or do they take both?
