Last year our Male Tom mated with a friend’s female and she laid 6 eggs that hatched in first of October. My friend has several other females that laid eggs also so he had about 16 babies running around in a controlled enclosure. There was a runt of the bunch and my friend asked if I Would take him home as the baby was getting forced out at feeding and other “reindeer games” by being walked on sat on and inadvertently ignored. So I have had him now for about 2 weeks and any help on special care would be appreciated. He is a little bigger than a quarter Where as his brothers and sisters are bigger than a half a dollar.
Next I have two females and both have mated, one is an Eastern and the other an Ornate, what are some of the habits or rituals they may do that I can keep an eye out for. Each female has mated with their respective species. The Eastern has a partial amputation of her front foot and was wondering if that would effect her digging. As for the Ornate she’s all over the pen.
Thanks, Alan
