Please go to www.Phrynosoma.org and read all you can. You are going to get into a little bit of an expense with ants, because ants are the preferred insect meal for most horned lizards. While they will take in crickets and other fair, these lizards need ants in their diet to maintain optimum health. We are talking about the big red ants, not fire ants or Argentine ants. I suggest you inform yourself of what your getting into first before you commit. Ants can get expensive... The information needs to be followed closely, your deviation from the information provided there may cause your animal to get sick and eventually expire. Also you need to be able to find a reputable person with healthy animals, most of the time they are not healthy and have been in possession of a breeder or jobber that doesn't know how to take care of these and they are already getting thin......just be wise. Cheers!!!
