I recently purchased what is supposed to be a female emerald tree boa.

I have had nothing but problems with the place I bought her from.

I already have a male, which is 4 years old. I was hoping to get into breeding emeralds over the next few years.

This snake was supposed to be an 06, but looks more like an 08. She had mites and scale rot when I got her, which was NEVER mentioned through correspondance with the owner of the store I purchased her from. Despite a "100% Health & Satisfaction Guarantee" they refused to do anything about her condition.

But, to cut to the chase, I had her probed last night and the probe went in 6 scales.

I know that with most snakes, 4 or less is female. The person I bought her from said that for ETBs 10-12 scales is male.

So is this snake a male or a female?

Thanks!
