>>At about 3 this afternoon I noticed the first (13 total eggs)slit in an egg. At 5 pm, there appeared to be a dark head protruding but not out yet. I did not look too closely but did not notice any slit in the other eggs. I am pumped as this is my first attempt. How long does it generally take for a hatchling to emerge and what is a safe time frame for both an individual emerging and from the first to the last in clutch hatching out? I had some temperature variation as described in a prior post. Can hardly wait. >>
Sit back.....be patient and check on them every 10 minutes like we do......LOL There is no set time for the to emerge......Sometimes they will emerge the same day....some times it takes a couple days.....Some times it takes over a week for other eggs to pip and neonates to emerge........
Congrats.......I bet your first one is a milk snake phase......You said dark head.....Most leonis hatchlings have a gray nose........... ----- John Lassiter Poor planning and procrastination on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part... www.coastalbendcaptivebreeding.com
