I just received a young female yellow foot, about 9 inches long. She seems healthy, but her shell looks weird. I don't have a camera so I'll try to describe it. The top of each scute is normal healthy shell material out to about 1.5 inches across. Then there is a sudden change in the appearance of the growth after that point. The newer growth is flaky and very rough. Also, there is more growth on the scutes towards the front of her shell and very little in the back, giving her a "humpbacked" look. Her previous owner was feeding her zoomed natural forest tortoise food with strawberries and grapes as treats. Her shell nice and hard, and she's very alert and active. What can i do to improve her shell's growth? Also any other bits of advice would be welcome, as this is my first tortoise. I have experience in box turtles and other reptiles. Thanks, everyone.
