Unexperienced people believe that since it is a baby snake it has to eat baby food items. A new born copperhead is designed and able to kill and eat a hopper mouse. A live hopper is more of what their instincts will tell them to eat. I would not think it very likely that a wild baby copperhead would ever find a new born frozen thawed pinky to eat.
