The only drawback is that they aren't quite as tame as some lizards but they aren't TOO skittish either. Another choice is a fireskink. Beautiful, hardy, easy to tame and also inexpensive. A fireskink will eat earthworms and cooked egg as well. They do require humidity but are still easy to care for, they need some moist eco-earth to burrow in but they aren't high maintenance at all.
