You will need to use an injection site about a third of the way back from the head and into the large dorsal muscles on each side of the vertebrae. Obviously between the scales and angling in from the rear taking care not go completely through the muscle. Some drugs are injected subcutaneous, or just under the skin, but antibiotics are generally required to be into muscle tissue. There are other minor details, but again, the vet will go through all of this for you before hand and I'm sure demo the first injection. It really isn't too difficult.
