Ah, sorry Chris, I miss understood your post.

Without looking at the record sheet I keep on my bottae, I usually put them down in late September because they go off feed, but if for some reason one or more keep feeding I keep that individual/individuals up and feeding until late October, then put them down in late October.

I keep them between 48 and 52 degrees while in burmation, and bring them out the first week of April. I check on them in burmation over this time frame to make sure the water bowl has water in it. While checking the water I look over the boa, to see if any of them are looking to be having a hard time, such as thin, flaccid, dehydrated, I bring the rough looking boa out of burmation, and slowly over a few days, introduce them to warmer temps., and start feeding 6 or 7 days once out of the cooler. If all the boa look fine during these water bowl checks they stay down until April.

I've bred bottae w/ heat tape under their tub, and w/ out heat tape under the tub, and feel for breeding that the heat tape is not needed, and that indeed heat can harm the breeding process.

Hope this helps,

-Dell
