Generally you're wanting to notice a post ovulation shed, because then you know the female has ovulated, where a pre ov. shed could only give a loose time frame because by definition, the ovulation hasn't occured yet. I haven't had consistent post ovulation sheds like occurs in BCI, but they do happen. Dumerils do tend to have a pre-lay shed though closer to giving birth. Gestation seems to be around 4 1/2 months. If you put a date down for this shed, and your female didn't actually ovulate until Feb. you'd easily add over 2 months onto your assumed gestation period.
