I often read posts here but never reply simply because this ID game is Doug's favorite thing to do as far as I can tell... but, like him, I am completely stumped... keep thinking one of the coachwhips... perhaps Masticophis flagellum... but my only reason for saying that is I can't think of any other possibility.

Think the only hint you could give me that would be of any help is simply to say exactly what it is.
