Kinda slow on the forum these days, so here's something to generate conversation.



I'm in Orange County, CA. My remaining three-toes, all two of them (others were adopted out), are spending their first winter outdoors (their 3rd winter since hatching). Just before they dug in, I had to move their pen due to construction happening in my backyard. The temporary location is in the shade all day from about early November until mid March or so. To my way of thinking, this is good in that it keeps their habitat temps more consistent and gives them a more stable hibernation. My question is when to move the pen back to its old location? To me it makes sense to leave them undisturbed until spring warms things up, then move their pen out where it will get good sun, but coastal SoCal isn't their native habitat, so I'd thought I'd poll you all for opinions. Temps at night vary here from low 40s to low 50s. Some nights might get down into the upper 30s, but that's fairly rare. Day time temps are in the mid to high 60s, into the low 70s at times, and can get into the 80s when we have high pressure pushing heated, dry air in off the desert. Nights stay coolish during those times.
