Hello, Joe.
There is a distinct size differential between adult S. L males and S. L. females with males being the smaller of the two. I guess that the female needs the size in order to procreate. However, S. L. males are around 9 inches when ready to procreate, which is a good deal less than the 12 inch female. Regardless of the size differential, they work it out just fine. If you thing that you may have Indians and want help with identification, please allow us ti help, if you like.
Thank you. Janie
