Yes, they are. When you pick them up from their cages for cleaning they're fine. When you approach them from holding cage to return them they're quite defensive. Once you're holding them they keep moving but haven't bitten. They act much like racers rather than the captive born/raised Eastern and Texas indigos I'm used to.
