Depending on how far south their gene/locality is from, the further south the less they need to be cooled down, but eight weeks at 55*F is the typical time/temp for most colubrids, but indigos are active in the winter, they just slow down and stay close to their burrows, females are harder to find in the winter months but its possible that males need to be cooled moreso than females, but I do agree that you can get eggs without cooling, especially with the cribos.
