What type of herps? Extra humidity is not bad for some species.

Anyway, the easiest method is to remove the water bowl. Offer water as necessary, but if humidity is high, there is no reason to have water in there 24/7. Snakes do not drink that much at all if they are not losing water. And with higher humidity, they aren't losing too much water.

There are times when water in a cage 24/7 is justified, but not at all times. During periods of low ambient humidity or with screen-top cages, having water in the cage 24/7 is OK. But for your situation, no need.

Snakes spend much time underground or under objects which limits dehydration. They do great that way with only occasional access to standing water. Depends on the species of course, but you get the idea.
