Took a trip to NE AL & NW GA over Presidents Day weekend and found a few sal species.

First find -- a lovely northern slimy sal.

A larger slimy. We found several on this trip.

Lead-back phase of the southern redback sal.

The Pigeon Mountain salamander, Plethodon petraeus, the highlight of our trip!

Tiny two-lined sal.

Northern spring salamander larva, about 5” long.

Southern redback sal with a somewhat unusual coloration.

Northern dusky larva in cave pool.

Adult found under leaf-litter next to a seep.

We ended the trip with a very large cave sal we found eyeing us from a crevice. We were able to coax it out for pics.

Thanks for looking!
