always nice to hear a kind word, even better when it comes from one of the "silent majority" that has found something he likes well enough to log in for.

Wish the pic of the Round Leaved Orchis were better as it is a beautiful orchid. In the thick gloomy beech woods they prefer the white flower stalk stands out from a long way off. I did try to get some better ones this year but didn't see a single one even though I visited areas where I have always seen them in years previous... with the exception of the Pink Lady's Slipper most of the orchids native to Maine seem to be on the decline.
