A nice clutch of Eastern indigo eggs arrived today: eleven good looking, one questionable, and two infertile. Lisa is a 2004 hatchling. She skipped producing for the past two years, even though she mated with males who did fertilize other females each season. She last shed on 2/16/2011. Eggs are incubating in a mix of vermiculite and perlite. Will try to keep temperatures in the 70's until close to hatching time. Then temperatures up to the low 80's would be good. Second Eastern female, Sister Skink, is also due to lay in about two weeks.

Texas indigo eggs arrived earlier this month, nine bad eggs on 3/07/2011. Female had last shed on 2/10/2011. I acquired Texas pair the end of September last year. They were in good shape, except for being underfed. Following diet suggestions of the East Coast Cribo Master, they've put on good weight. More birds, less rodents. Male is a 2005 Allesandrini hatchling. Female is a 2006 Willis hatchling. Both of these lines can produce big, robust hatchlings. Hopefully, next year?

Speaking of the ECCM, he's been remarkably successful producing Drymarchon eggs this year.
