Ah! Been there. I've got a just-under-a-yearling extreme giant that's about 4 feet and 5 or 6 pounds and he LOVES to wreck shop in his cage. Here's what I do to TRY to prevent him from tipping his water dish (a double-wide rubbermaid shoe box--if that makes ANY sense). I fill that thing to about 3/4 full (leaving a bit of room for volume displacement when the tegu's actually IN the water tub). Because the tub is fairly good size, this amount of water weighs the tub down enough to keep him from knocking it over.

Of course, I don't know how long this situation will last as he still has a LOT of growing to do (like I said, he's not even a year old and is coming up on 4 feet).

Good luck!

By the way, tegutalk dot com is a GREAT resource for your tegu questions and you'll get many more responses in a much timelier manner. Plug plug!
