Of the 2 times I've seen this, both times the female disappeared down a hole as soon as it was over (or perhaps before the male was finished, since he was left just sitting there). In fact she may have been halfway underground while it was happening. If one snake can go down a hole you'd think the other could follow, so perhaps it's "her" hole?
