D.C. area croc ownership

Does anybody know whether it's legal to own any type of crocodilian in the D.C. area? By D.C. area, I'm including the District, Virginia, and Maryland. I've seen that Virginia requires permits, but I have no idea how hard they are to get for a private owner.
