Stacking them lightly covers the air vent but still allows some airflow. I only stack when pulling them out of their rack for servicing, cleaning, etc.

Good point about the dishwasher.

I've been using these for the last month or so. Thus far all is well. I thought that the lids would loosen over time, but so far so good, and I open the boxes nearly daily.

Just got the larger size today. Fantastic size, will work out well for growing babies. Not huge kings - graybands and ruthveni. These don't push hard on lids like Florida kings for example.
